Il ministro della salute libanese Hamad Hasan consiglia a chiunque possa di andare via da Beirut, devastata ieri da due potenti esplosioni che hanno causato oltre 100 morti e 4.000 feriti. Hasan – citato dai media locali – afferma infatti che materiali pericolosi sprigionatisi nell’aria dopo le deflagrazioni potrebbero avere effetti a lungo termine mortali. Le squadre di soccorso stanno cercando oltre 100 persone ritenute disperse, riporta la Bbc.
“Preghiamo per le vittime e per i loro familiari, e preghiamo per il Libano, perché con l’impegno di tutte le sue componenti sociali politiche e religiose possa affrontare questo momento così tragico e doloroso, e con l’aiuto della comunità internazionale superare la grave crisi che sta attraversando”, ha detto il Papa nell’udienza generale.
